Property/Facilities Officer
CareerSteps are working with our client an Education Body on identifying suitable candidates for a newly created role within their organisation.
The role, reporting into the CEO will manage several properties, many of which are protected structures. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all the organisations’ properties and work facilities are managed effectively to support its strategic and operational needs and to meet its health and safety requirements.
There is an excellent reward package on offer for the successful candidate.
This role would suit someone coming from property management, facilities management, health and safety or risk management background.
The key responsibilities will amongst others include:
- Management of all the organisations properties and facilities across 5 locations as well as working with the CEO on the provision of future services in line with their strategic goals
- Developing and maintaining Health and Safety Plan
- Developing policies and procedures in relation of operation of the estate of the organisation
- Plan and manage all maintenance activities in conjunction with outsourced property maintenance provider
- Risk management – prepare annual risk register for all properties
- First point of contact for all essential services as well as service and utilities providers and public body stakeholders
- Responsible for continuity planning for physical infrastructure
- Working in collaboration with the CEO on future spending projects
Candidate profile:
- Relevant third level qualification
- 5 years’ experience in similar role
- Strong technical skills in the build environment
- Understanding of the specific requirements of protected structures
- Project management skills
- It is desirable but not essential to have experience in the public sector and understanding of Public Spending Code and/or Public Procurement experience
