An exciting opportiny has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our clients' talented team based at their head office in Lincoln. Our client is a privately owned business based in Lincoln with a reputation for delivering quality Civil Engineering projects within Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas undertaking a range of interesting and diverse projects.

Working very closely with the directors, the successful candidate will assist with the surveying function of the business to help deliver the company's expanding development programme across the county in a planned and effective manner. The role will be wide and varied but will include the following:

Key responsibilities:

* Preparation of tender documents for Labour Only and Bona Fide subcontracts.
* Analysis of tenders & placing of orders .
* Contract management.
* Taking off drawings & preparation of labour rates. Updating labour rates as required.
* Processing contractors’ claims & dealing with any issues that arise.
* Code contractors’ invoices & time sheets for processing by Payroll & Accounts Department.
* Obtaining quotations for investigation works and site preparation works, including the preparation of tender documents and the placing of orders following sign off by a Director.
* Ensuring that the necessary remediation statements/compliance certificates etc. have been received.
* Processing contractors’ claims & dealing with any issues that arise.
* Liaise with the Engineering Manager as required in obtaining quotations and the contract management for the provision of mains & services to all developments, including the preparation of
tender documents.
* Ensure that invoices are sent out for work carried out by our client in respect of mains & service (e.g. BT).
* Coordinate rebate claims for any works carried out for mains & service providers.
* Produce budget infrastructure and services costs for land appraisals.
* Produce projected cost to complete for infrastructure works etc. for the Accounts Department.
* Produce budget costs for standard dwelling types and keep updated.
* Work with the finance department to monitor actual costs against budgets.

Experience and attributes required: -

* Professional qualification or experience in Quantity Surveying.
* Experience of residential housing sector.
* Ability to work as part of a busy team, but also be confident in your own ability & decision making.
* Technical knowledge, and proven experience in a similar role.
* Excellent organisational, oral and written skills.
* Good negotiation and IT skills.
* Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Full driving licence.

This role will suit a candidate with some experience in the residential development sector, however we are also happy to support any training that may be required to cover any gaps in experience.
