Salary: Up to £85,000

 

Location: East London

 

You will be working on a portfolio of projects predominantly in the occupied building arena, including residential, commercial, public sectors, ranging from fire safety improvements to large internal fitout projects and construction works, with values up to £15m.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

As Pre-Construction Manager you will be working as part of an established pre-construction team, that will support the success of every project through the tender and pre-construction phase. This role will focus on leading and owning the tender and pre-construction process on multiple competitive, negotiated, singe stage and 2 stage bids, working collaboratively with pre-construction, operational and commercial teams.

 

You will coordinate and manage all pre-construction and tender activities from initial expression of interest through to final submission and handover to the construction phase team, taking ownership of the process and content.

 

Essential skills will include your ability to build relationships, both internally with the estimating team, design team, commercial team, sales teams, and operational delivery sector to dealing with the client's representatives and the subcontractors tendering for work on the project.

 

Main Responsibilities:

• Maintain strong links with business development to share good practice

• Responsible for the timely planning and ensuring all timelines are met and bids are submitted accurately

• To co-ordinate all parties involved in the bid process ensuring everyone is aware of the level of contribution expected of them and knows when their deadlines are.

• Read, understand, and extract the key bid requirements from the documentation received and communicate with all parties via Tracking Sheets, Planning and Review meetings

• Identify and communicate evaluation criteria and its relevance to question specific scores

• Plan, write & co-ordinate submission responses ensuring client and job specific answers

 

Experience and skills

• Experience in Construction Bids / Pre-Con Management

• Computer Literate in MS Office

• Experience in coordinating and submitting Bids, working with Estimating and Design teams

• Proven track record of pre-cosntruction

• Social Housing Knowledge/Experience

• Up to date construction industry knowledge

• Basic Interview & presentation Skills

• High level of interpersonal skills

• Presentation skills

• Good at developing relationships with Operational leaders

• Ability to stay focused and precise

• Able to communicate at all levels

• Proven written communication
