We are recruiting Estimators and Senior Estimators to join a highly regarded cost consultancy in New York.

The Roles
Successful candidates will provide cost estimating services across major infrastructure, transportation and public sector construction programmes.
Responsibilities will include:
• Preparing conceptual, schematic, design development and construction document estimates
• Producing detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Developing construction budgets and cost plans
• Preparing bid evaluations and independent cost estimates
• Analysing contractor proposals and change orders
• Obtaining and reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Providing value engineering and cost saving recommendations
• Monitoring market conditions, labour rates and material pricing
• Preparing clear and accurate cost reports
• Working closely with clients, architects, engineers and project teams
• Supporting the successful financial delivery of complex infrastructure projects
Senior Estimators will also be responsible for leading major assignments, reviewing estimates, managing client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates should have:
• Previous cost estimating experience within infrastructure, transportation, aviation, rail or major public works
• Experience working for a cost consultancy, construction consultancy, engineering firm or contractor
• Strong quantity takeoff and measurement skills
• A detailed understanding of construction methods, materials and market rates
• The ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
• Experience producing estimates throughout different stages of design
• The confidence to work directly with clients and multidisciplinary project teams
Previous experience working on projects for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey would be highly desirable.
Experience with other major New York public agencies, transportation bodies or infrastructure authorities would also be beneficial.
Senior Estimator candidates should demonstrate experience leading complex estimates, reviewing the work of others and presenting cost information directly to clients and senior stakeholders.
