Cruise Gray Associates is supporting one of the world’s leading technology companies with the appointment of a Senior Cost Manager to there Southeastern US hub. This is an owner-side opportunity working on major capital construction projects within a highly sophisticated global technology environment. The role will suit an experienced Cost Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, data-driven setting and managing significant project spend from early cost planning through delivery and final account.
You will work closely with internal project teams, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders, providing commercial oversight and ensuring projects are delivered with strong cost control, transparency and value.

The Role
As Senior Cost Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial and cost management of major construction projects, including:
- Preparing and reviewing budgets, estimates and detailed cost plans
- Managing tender and bid processes from initial documentation through analysis, recommendation and appointment
- Reviewing contractor and consultant proposals to ensure commercial competitiveness and value for money
- Managing change control, including assessment, negotiation and approval of variations
- Producing regular cost reports, forecasts and project financial updates
- Monitoring project expenditure and identifying emerging commercial risks
- Managing valuations and payment recommendations
- Supporting procurement strategy and commercial decision-making
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts
- Reviewing and supporting the resolution of claims, loss and expense and commercial disputes
- Providing clear commercial advice to senior stakeholders and project teams
- Maintaining accurate cost documentation and ensuring timely reporting
- Building strong relationships across internal teams, consultants and contractors
- Supporting and mentoring less experienced members of the cost management team where required
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced construction cost professional with a strong consultancy or owner-side background.
You will ideally have:
- Experience operating at Senior Cost Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor level
- A strong background in construction cost management
- Significant pre-contract experience including estimating, cost planning and tendering
- Strong post-contract commercial management experience
- Experience managing change control and contractor variations
- Strong cost reporting, forecasting and budget management capability
- Experience working directly with clients and senior project stakeholders
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
- MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation would be advantageous
- Strong analytical, commercial and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-moving project environment
- Experience within technology, data centres, advanced manufacturing, mission critical, commercial or other large scale capital projects would be particularly relevant.
