Production Manager

Due to continued growth, we are delighted to be assisting our client in Peterhead who are looking for a Production Manager on a full time permanent basis. 

Hours: 40 hours per week with overtime and on-call requirement 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose equipment faults and carry out timely repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and ensure all maintenance activities are completed on time.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment history and spare parts inventory.
• Coordinate with production and operations teams to ensure all maintenance activities are completed on time.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, HSE regulations and requirements.
• Supervise contractors and maintenance technicians when required.
• Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a safe and organised condition.
• To be vigilant on all safety matters and report any situations which may occur anywhere on the company premises.

Essential skills, knowledge & Qualifications:

• Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in a supervisory/similar role.
• Knowledge of the food production industry is preferable but not essential.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Time management and organisation skills.
• Safety awareness and compliance.
• IT literate and be able to perform reports and documentation when required.
• Flexible in working hours and able to work overtime if required.
• A team player with a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership.
• Have an ability to perform under pressure and work effectively.
• Positive, proactive and professional approach.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
