Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of building works to ensure compliance with building regulations and safety standards.
- Review plans and specifications for new developments and alterations to existing structures.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients, architects, and contractors regarding building regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports on inspections, including any necessary follow-up actions or recommendations.
- Liaise with local authorities and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project progression.
- Stay updated on changes in building legislation and best practices within the industry.
Requirements:
- Must be a Registered Building Inspector with relevant qualifications and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and safety standards.
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a local authority or private sector environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to Have:
- Membership in a relevant professional body, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE).
- Experience with digital inspection tools and software.
