We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Building Inspector 2A+ to join our team in Worcestershire. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building regulations and standards across a variety of construction projects. You will work closely with contractors, architects, and local authorities to maintain high safety and quality standards in the built environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial buildings at various stages of construction.
- Assess compliance with building regulations, planning permissions, and health and safety legislation.
- Provide expert advice to builders and developers on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation following inspections, highlighting any issues or non-compliance.
- Liaise with local authorities and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project approvals and inspections.
- Stay updated on changes in building regulations and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
Requirements:
- Valid registration as a Building Inspector 2A+ with relevant qualifications.
- Proven experience in building inspection, preferably within a local authority or private sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, construction methods, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with sustainable building practices and energy efficiency regulations.
- Familiarity with building inspection software and digital reporting tools.
- Membership in a relevant professional body, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or similar.
