Registered Building Inspector

This role is all about work–life balance and flexibility. It’s fully remote and mainly focused on plan checking, with far fewer site visits than a traditional role. That said, you’ll still get enough site exposure to keep your registration ticking over, if that’s what you want.

If you’re easing off a bit and want more time for yourself, there’s the option to work a four‑day week on a pro‑rata salary. If you’d rather stick to five days, there’s a flexi‑time setup that lets you build up an extra day’s leave every four weeks.

You’ll be working across a mix of projects in both the commercial and domestic sectors, though it’s mostly commercial work, with a strong focus on technical and strategic plan reviews.

The company itself is very supportive and genuinely invested in development. You’ll get the chance to work on larger projects, with the training and mentoring needed to move up to higher RBI grades. There’s a proper hands‑on approach here, plus peer reviews to help build confidence and experience as you go.
