Civil Engineer
Poringland | Permanent, full-time| £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Job Description: Civil Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Norwich
Experience Level: Intermediate to Senior
Salary: up to £45,000
The Opportunity
This practice is expanding and are currently doubling their office footprint to create a high-quality working environment. As part of this growth, we are looking for an Intermediate Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their core team and progress.
You will work directly under our Principal Engineer providing critical support on a diverse range of projects. This is a role for an engineer who wants to move beyond standard volume work and tackle more complex, specialized engineering challenges while maintaining a solid foundation in traditional civil infrastructure.
The Role
• Orchestrate Infrastructure Design: Deliver high-quality designs for civil infrastructure projects, including drainage, highways, and site levels.
• Collaborative Execution: Work closely with Nathan (Principal Engineer) to ensure project delivery meets Sub10’s high technical standards.
• Technical Versatility: Engage in both standard civil engineering tasks and the "additional, more complicated" specialized work that sets Sub10 apart from the competition.
• Growth Trajectory: This is a key hire for the firm. We invest in our people and have clear aspirations for those who show commitment and technical prowess.
Candidate Profile
• Experience: You are likely in the "intermediate" stage of your career (mid-level). You have moved past the initial graduate phase and can work with increasing autonomy.
• Mindset: You are not risk-averse. You are refreshed by the prospect of getting out of your comfort zone and learning specialized techniques (e.g., complex structural interfaces or unique site constraints).
• Technical Foundation: Must have a solid grasp of UK civil infrastructure standards. A BEng in Civil Engineering is preferred, but practical application and "worth reading" experience are paramount.
• Culture Fit: We value transparency and long-term relationships. You should be a "solid" individual looking to build a career within a stable, growing team.
Why us?
• Autonomy: We avoid the "hamster wheel" of low-margin fees. We focus on quality work that challenges our engineers.
• Leadership: Work with a leadership team that values professional diplomacy and has a deep history in the East Anglian engineering market.
