Role and Responsibilities
- As a Finance Team Leader / Finance Manager, you will be responsible to lead and oversee the day-to-day operation of the Finance department, ensuring accurate, timely and effective financial processes.
- Take ownership of the monthly management accounts pack, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and cash flow analysis, with full reconciliations and timely production of the monthly reporting pack.
- Provide clear financial insight to the business, ensuring a strong understanding of performance drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activity to support effective business planning and decision-making.
- Deliver complete and accurate financial information in line with agreed reporting deadlines.
- Oversee daily bank processing and reconciliations, including the accurate reconciliation and management of the invoice discounting facility.
- Oversee weekly and monthly sales invoicing using Sage 50 and the Timegate rostering management system.
- Oversee purchase ledger processing and credit control activity.
- Oversee monthly payroll reconciliations.
- Drive effective cash-flow management to maximise available cash.
- Undertake contract analysis and KPI reporting as required.
- Support the Finance Director with the production of annual financial statements.
- Provide and coordinate information required by external auditors.
- Maintain and continually improve robust financial controls, processes and procedures.
- Lead, manage, support and mentor junior members of the Finance team, encouraging their ongoing development.
- Support the senior leadership team with financial information, analysis and other financial tasks to improve business performance.
- Lead and contribute to Business Improvement Plans, continuous improvement initiatives and new projects.
- Qualified or nearly qualified Accountant – ACCA or CIMA
- Proven experience working as a Finance Team Leader or Finance Manager within a busy, growing or fast-paced business.
- Experience of invoice discounting is essential.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience using Sage Line 50.
- Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Demonstrable experience implementing and maintaining effective financial controls.
- Strong analytical skills with a commercially focused and strategic mindset.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate financial information.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships and communicate financial information at all levels of the business.
- Competitive basic salary of up to £50,000
