Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with an expanding organisation based in Tamworth. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as a Supply Chain Planner on a full-time permanent basis

Personality
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with complex data with a keen eye for detail as well as experience of working to changeable and tight deadlines with a resilience to work with accuracy under pressure. You will be using relevant software and available forecast information, maintaining agreed stock levels of assigned SKU’s, placing orders with nominated suppliers and expediting delivery as required.

Job Role:
  • Assisting the Supply Chain Manager in ensuring excellent service
  • Using software and other tools to gather and analyse information
  • Monitoring sales forecasts and adjusting stock orders accordingly
  • Identify and communicate potential risks to stakeholders
  • Placing stock orders
  • Understanding supply lead times, unloading, and warehouse capacity
  • Collaborating with Procurement, Customer Services, and Warehouse teams
  • Maintaining positive relationships with suppliers
  • Addressing supply or quality issues effectively
  • Working with the team to streamline supply channels and control costs
  • Organising and booking pre-shipment inspections
  • Communicating updates and assisting in resolving corrective actions
  • Track and update data such as lead times and delivery locations
  • Managing shipping and import documentation
  • Supporting international shipping processes, including to/from the Far East
  • Assisting with supplier invoice approvals to ensure timely payments

Skills and experience:
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Organised and enthusiastic
  • Ability to plan own work, identify priorities early and meet objectives
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to own initiative  
  • Experience of working to changeable and tight deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of Excel and other more general business software platforms such as Sage, Epicor, Slim Stock
  • Working knowledge and understanding of import/export procedures
  • Experience in raising well organised purchase orders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
