Oakley Recruitment is working in partnership with an expanding organisation based in Tamworth. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team as a Design Support Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will be able to effectively collaborate with various teams across the business. They should be proactive, able to prioritise tasks and coordinate seamlessly with team members. Self-motivation and disciplined work habits are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and as a strong team player

Job Role
  • Support the design department in creating specification documentation and materials
  • Managing OEM and sourcing projects
  • Designing and producing product literature
  • Creating exploded drawings and BOMs using SolidWorks
  • Conducting research to support new product concepts
  • Preparing for and participating in design reviews
  • Ensuring products are tested and meet market demands and compliance requirements
  • Coordinating with test houses and laboratories to ensure product compliance with standards
  • Communicate with all teams in the technical/quality department to ensure timely project completion
Skills and experience
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines
  • Ability to communicate through concept artwork and 3D CAD
  • Fully familiar with Microsoft Office packages
  • Intermediate knowledge in adobe software (photoshop, in design and illustrator)
  • Experience and understanding of being in a manufacturing environment
