The Role Unveiled
Welcome to the Translation Division of thebigword, the global force behind breaking language barriers. From translating websites into Zulu to decoding the schematics of nuclear submarines, we are the go-to team for linguistic excellence. Operating globally with teams across the UK, US, Asia, and Europe, we're the bridge connecting our clients to a world of professional linguists, offering over 250 language combinations across diverse industries.

You’ll be the go-to architect for solutions and strategy, driving business success and fostering strong relationships with our Bid and Development teams.

Your Role in Action
Are you ready to dive into the world of Bid Writing? As a Bid Writer within our Interpreting Division, you're the architect of persuasive narratives that shape our success. Your mission? Crafting winning proposals that captivate and elevate our business. From diving into the core of our solutions to strategically positioning us as the preferred choice, your role is instrumental in driving our growth. Collaborating with the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Bid Manager, you will:
  • Craft Winning Responses: Create compelling, high-quality responses for public and private sector tenders, from large organisations and industry leaders, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Refine and Perfect Proposals: Edit and proofread responses following review, delivering polished and error-free final versions that stand out.
  • Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with subject matter experts, team members, and stakeholders to gather and consolidate crucial information for proposals.
  • Research and Analyse: Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform the creation of competitive, insightful tenders.
  • Ensure Compliance and Quality: Ensure all proposals meet tender compliance requirements, adhere to company values, and maintain the highest quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with bid, sales, marketing, and technical teams to develop proposals that align with our strategy and showcase our strengths.
  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, public sector procurement processes, and best practices to ensure we stay competitive.
  • Maintain a Winning Resource Library: Contribute to and maintain a dynamic bid library, ensuring easy access to the latest, most relevant content for future proposals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply post-bid feedback to refine and enhance our submissions, ensuring continuous improvement and evolving success.
  • Strategic Contribution: Support in shaping winning bid strategies and refining our proposal-writing processes for future success.

The Perfect Match: Your Skills & Talents
  • Experience in crafting winning private and public sector tenders.
  • Proven track record of securing high-value contracts.
  • APMP certification preferred, but not essential.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
  • Knowledge of UK public sector procurement processes preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, adept at multitasking.
  • Excellent collaborator with a team-first mindset.
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments and meets tight deadlines with ease.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and proposal writing software.
