An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a market leading Bridgwater based Manufacturing organisation on a permanent basis as their new Warehouse Manager. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the management and leadership of a team of 9 within the Warehouse / Goods In / Despatch function.

As the Warehouse Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of all warehouse activities, from receipt of incoming goods; through to the storage of materials and components; and the despatch of finished product. You will be leading a team of 9 warehouse personnel to ensure the speed and accuracy of work carried out.

You will be expected to pay particular attention to the safe, hygienic operation and maintenance of the working environment, giving due consideration to any tasks identified as being critical within the scope of the Company’s Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and COMAH regulations.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
·         Assume overall effective responsibility for all aspects of the supervision, motivation, training, development and health and welfare of the warehouse team.
·         Planning and co-ordination of processes related to the receipt, storage and despatch of goods.
·         Management of internal, external and third-party stock locations.
·         Despatch of items in a timely and efficient manner to fulfil customer needs.
·         Work closely with the Customer Services function to ensure that processes related to the collection and despatch of finished goods are optimised to ensure customer satisfaction.
·         Operate effective processes to reconcile system generated stock reports and physical stock.
·         Work closely with the Planning function to ensure that stock check processes are organised and executed effectively.
·         Work closely with the Quality function to facilitate the effective handling of non-conforming product.
·         Planning and achievement of team objectives and projects, departmental KPI’s and Company OTIF targets.
·         Implement the Company’s Health and Safety policy within the warehouse area, ensuring the provision of safe working conditions and practices at all times.
·         Represent the warehouse department at Health and Safety Committee meetings.
·         Any other reasonable additional duties which may be required by management.

As the new Warehouse Manager, you will be able to demonstrate your experience within a fast-moving warehouse environment. You will be comfortable with a range of ERP software as well as Microsoft Office. Most critical is the capability of acting independently and making critical decisions relating to warehouse and logistics business activities, as well as keeping the Operations Manager and other senior managers informed about relevant actions and follow up activities.

Experience of liaising with third part logistics and transport organisations is essential as is a familiarity with legislation relating to the carriage of dangerous goods and the use of Dangerous Goods Notes. In addition, you will require a current FLT licence and must possess excellent communication skills as you will be working closely with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and 15-minute breaks in the morning and afternoon. On a Friday the hours are 07:30 – 13:30 with a 15-minute break. On occasions, working all day on a Friday might be required due to business needs, however this will be planned in advance.

You will receive 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays annually (January to December) rising depending on length of service. The site has a Christmas / New Year shutdown, so depending how it falls, 3 or 4 days must be set aside for this period. In addition, our client offers and death-in-service benefit scheme that pays three times basic salary payable to the employees’ beneficiary should the unmentionable occur.
