Our client who are based close to Weston-super-Mare have an opportunity for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

Person Specification / Qualification and Experience

•             Must be suitably qualified (NEBOSH, IOSH qualified)
•             Experience of managing ISO 45001 (18001) Certificated Health and Safety Management Systems
•             Experience of managing ISO 14001 Certified Environmental Management Systems
•             Managing multiple sites in the local area so will need own transport
•             Must have the ability to work on own initiative and work with others
•             Excellent communication skills are required within this role
•             Must be an effective time manager due to the complexity of the role and duties

Key Duties

•             Maintaining the Company’s Legal Register ensuring ongoing compliance of all regulatory requirements affecting Health and Safety
•             Managing and maintaining all Risk Assessments within the Company
•             Managing and maintaining all COSHH / REACH Assessments at multiple sites
•             Managing and maintaining all company EHS Certifications (FSC, Achilles, Considerate Constructors, CHAS etc)
•             Managing and maintaining all EHS Training / Competency requirements within the business
•             Liaising with Factory Managers ensuring EHS Systems and are effective and compliant throughout multiple sites
•             Carrying out routine / monthly EHS inspections at each factory and preparing documented reports
•             Chairing routine / monthly EHS Meetings ensuring effectiveness and progression of corrective actions affecting EHS within the Company
•             Reviewing weekly EHS Reports and preparing action plans to each department / factory
•             Preparing a monthly EHS report per factory for the Directors to review
•             Preparing and hosting Tool Box Talks throughout the business
•             Managing and maintaining Accident / Injury (including near misses) statistics throughout the Company
•             Carrying out accident and near miss investigations and preparing documented reports
•             Monitoring weekly EHS Performances and reports
