A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Bookkeeper to join a highly successful award-winning independent firm of Chartered Financial Planners in Taunton. Due to the size of the organisation, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to utilise their skills and knowledge as a Bookkeeper, alongside taking on a key role in providing a wider ongoing administrative support to the organisation.

Due to the nature of our client’s business, there is an emphasis on the income accounting as this needs reporting to various different bodies. This includes Client Profitability to Advisors, FCA and Insurers amongst others. Additional tasks will include:
·         Posting purchase invoices
·         Posting income statements and transferring income on to Advisor software – Intelligent Office and maintaining the integrity between the two systems
·         Raising client invoices and collecting payments to include taking credit card payments on virtual terminal
·         Reconciling ledgers
·         Maintaining fixed asset module on Sage
·         Performing bank reconciliations

The second part of the role (Administration) is niche to the industry sector. Experience of these elements of the role are not essential as these areas can be trained. Administration responsibilities include:
·         Preparing new client packs and setting clients up on the CRM
·         Preparing letters of instruction and Letters of Authority to Providers
·         Calling Providers to collect or chase policy information
·         Maintaining client data on the CRM and informing providers where appropriate
·         Preparing client enclosures for Suitability letter and Policy recommendations
·         Collecting data for and preparing monthly policy summaries

Currently operating using Sage, our client will shortly be transitioning to Xero, therefore experience of either or both systems would be highly advantageous. In addition, it is essential the successful applicant has a proven background of working up to Trial Balance and Double Entry Bookkeeping.
