Position : AV Support Technician (site-based)
Reporting to : Service Manager / Senior AV Field Service Engineer
Department : Service
Location : Client sites in Central London (TBC)
Primary Scope and Purpose of Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated site-based AV support technician who will be primarily located on key client sites, providing first-class support and troubleshooting for AV and videoconferencing. It is expected that the AV Support Technician may support more than one client site, and assist with technical support for other clients, via email, telephone support, remote session and visits to other client sites as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience in relevant AV and videoconferencing systems, including audio processing, control systems and digital video switching / transmission.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Typical duties of the AV Support Technician include:
Ø Working from key client sites, acting as first point of contact for AV and videoconferencing support for end users and ensuring that any technical issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Ø Undertaking daily room sweeps and preventative maintenance and documenting findings. Keeping records identify recurring issues and coordinating solutions to combat them.
Ø Developing in-depth expertise regarding all AV / VC technology both on site and which may be relevant to site activities (e.g. alternative VC platforms).
Ø Collaborating with the client’s internal teams (e.g. IT, Facilities, Events) to support their business activities from an AV perspective. This may include planning for events and providing support during events.
Ø Where needed, escalating technical problems to colleagues and manufacturer support teams, and diligently chasing up to resolution.
Ø Providing ad hoc end-user training so that systems are used correctly.
Ø Updating of system commissioning documentation such as AV/IT schedules, and accurate note recording of work carried out on site and via remote work.
Ø Remote and on-site support for other clients, including undertaking scheduled preventative maintenance service visits.

Ø Collaborating with colleagues across the business, providing advice, information, and assistance on a range of AV matters, and following best practices as advised. This includes gathering and passing on relevant information to sales and service contract sales to maximise client accounts to their full potential.
Ø Diligent use of business systems such as Microsoft Dynamics and Teams, and contributing to effective process improvements in the business.
Ø Liaising with our delivery and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of equipment for service elements and processing of additional/replacement parts, returns and RMA’s.
Ø Working collectively with the administration/HR team in respect of welfare, appraisal and team building.
