We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract Manager to join our dynamic team in Newcastle, specialising in commercial flooring projects. Our company is a leading provider of flooring solutions, known for our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. In this role, you will oversee the management of contracts from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of commercial flooring contracts, including planning, execution, and final delivery, ensuring compliance with project specifications and client expectations.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirements, fostering strong relationships to facilitate smooth operations.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contract documents, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards, and addressing any discrepancies or concerns promptly.
- Monitor project progress and performance through regular updates and site visits, implementing corrective actions as necessary to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Conduct thorough site assessments to evaluate project status, quality of work, and adherence to safety standards, addressing any issues that may arise during installation.
- Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management on project status, risks, and opportunities, providing insights for strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with project managers and site teams to resolve any issues that arise, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, amendments, and correspondence, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Contract Manager in the construction or flooring industry, with a strong track record of successfully managing multiple projects.
- Strong understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and commercial practices relevant to the flooring sector.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Proficient in project management software (such as MS Project or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to generate reports and presentations effectively.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualifications in construction management, business administration, or a related field, demonstrating a solid foundation in industry practices.
