Carpet Roles UK are delighted to be assisting their clients, a Flooring Retail Specialist that is part of a wider and well established Flooring Contractor based up in the North East in their search for a Retail Sales Estimator to help win and manage sales from their new Store in Great Park Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Our Clients are looking to strengthen their retail team with the addition of a Flooring Sales and Estimating Specialist, who will assist in shaping and delivering their retail experience to a diverse clientele. We are therefore seeking an accomplished flooring sales estimator, capable of engaging with multi-level clients across varied market sectors. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can bring valuable experience and expertise to an established business. You will require a solid foundation of knowledge and experience, along with a successful track record in the retail flooring sector. Product and systems training, as well as mentoring, will be provided to ensure your success in this role.
As the group expands, the importance of our clients' retail sales strategy becomes fundamental to the overall success of the organisation, aligning with the group's expected projections. This role is not only about performance but also about enhancing our branding, image, and customer experience. We are looking for an experienced sales and estimation professional who possesses an established client base, excellent product knowledge, and a drive to excel in customer experience. This position offers the opportunity for career progression into management roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet clients within our retail store, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Conduct client visits to assess needs and provide tailored flooring solutions.
- Handle inquiries received through the website and social media platforms, ensuring timely and professional responses.
- Assist clients in product selection, offering expert advice on flooring options that best suit their requirements.
- Accurately price jobs and estimate costs, ensuring competitive and fair pricing.
- Liaise with fitting teams to coordinate installation schedules and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Collect deposits and final balances, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Actively seek new clients through networking and relationship-building efforts.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance social media presence and develop point-of-sale (POS) materials.
- Research and identify new suppliers and product ranges to expand offerings and meet market demands.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in flooring sales and estimation, with a strong understanding of the retail flooring market.
- Excellent product knowledge across various flooring types, including carpet, laminate, vinyl, and hardwood.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
- Proficiency in using estimation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating quick thinking and high motivation.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to adapt to changing industry landscapes.

- Previous experience in a management or supervisory role within the retail sector.
- Familiarity with digital marketing strategies and social media management.
- Relevant certifications in flooring installation or sales, which would enhance credibility and expertise.
