Quantity Surveyor - Flooring - Central London

Carpet Roles UK are delighted to be working with a leading London based Commercial Flooring Contractor who are urgently seeking to fill both a QS and a Pre Contract / Estimator to work from their London offices and help them to continue their success.

And install a wide range of Floor Coverings into the Commercial sphere.

Established for nearly 65 years they have a great reputation for their high Quality workmanship and pride themselves on providing exceptional Client Service and delivering high standards on every installation.

They have grown rapidly in the last couple of years and are now seeking a pro active and ambitious Individual to help them to spot new opportunities to drive growth of the business.

Quantity Surveyor Role:

You will be from a Flooring (or D & B) background ideally, results oriented, driven, with the energy levels required to work as part of their team of Flooring Industry Professionals and who can fit into their Family driven company culture.

You will carry out:

• Contract Negotiations
• Applications
• Price up and then management of variations.
• Financial management and tracking of all projects
• Relationship Building with Client Base
• Reporting and development of management information.
• Always with an eye to improving profitability.

Required knowledge and experience for this role will include:

• Microsoft Excel - to a High Standard
• Flooring Industry Knowledge - High level required
• Surveying - High Standard required
• Estimating - Basic understanding
• Takeoff Software - Good Standard (individual can learn specific software package on job)
• Construction / Main Contractor Knowledge - needs to be high level.
• Financial / Commercial Knowledge - High.

Interfaces / Reports:

• You will need to be able to communicate and work closely in cooperation with our clients operations and Pre-Con Teams.
• You will also work with Commercial and Managing Director level internally, reporting to the Commercial Director to grow the Business.
• Operations Director will be another Key interface at hand over stage of won projects that are ready to be completed.

• Driven – We are a small company experiencing rapid growth so are looking for determined individuals to drive the business forward.
• Builds relationships – Strong relationships are required both internally with team members and externally with clients and suppliers.
• Strong communication skills and good English
