The Role
As a Commercial Mortgage Broker, you’ll be at the heart of delivering tailored funding solutions to SMEs seeking property-backed finance. From initial enquiry to deal completion, you’ll manage cases end-to-end, ensuring exceptional outcomes for clients while meeting productivity and sales targets. You’ll also have the opportunity to broaden your exposure by supporting larger structured finance deals, including invoice finance, venture debt, and MBOs.
What You’ll Be Doing
● Qualifying inbound enquiries, conducting discovery calls, and negotiating terms of business.
● Proactively reaching out to existing accounts to uncover new opportunities.
● Building new business relationships with clients and introducers, offering market-leading solutions with a personal touch.
● Preparing and presenting funding applications, negotiating with banks and alternative lenders to secure the best outcomes for clients.
● Managing a live pipeline in the CRM, ensuring all documentation and correspondence are accurate and up-to-date.
● Collaborating with the Corporate Funding team on larger, more complex opportunities and representing our client professionally in meetings.
● Adhering to FCA conduct rules and internal compliance standards, completing mandatory training on time.
● Expanding the lender network by identifying and onboarding new providers in a compliant manner.
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves:
● Proven sales experience in financial services, with a track record of hitting targets.
● Solid knowledge of property finance products, including Commercial Mortgages, Portfolio, Development, and Bridging finance.
● Strong relationship-building skills with clients and introducers, coupled with confident communication and negotiation abilities.
● Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial accounts and solve problems effectively.
● Proficiency in using CRM systems to manage pipelines and client interactions.
Nice-to-haves:
● Experience working on larger structured finance deals, such as invoice discounting or venture debt.
● Familiarity with a tech-enabled environment and a passion for innovation in financial services.
