We are recruiting for a Solicitor or Associate to join the Insurance Team of a Top 50 UK law firm in the Glasgow office.
You will be working in the dedicated insurance team based out of Glasgow with your own varied caseload of predominantly pre and litigated disease claims as well as EL/PL claims, motor/fraud and assist with high value and complex claims.
You will be responsible for the running of the day to day of your cases including liaising with clients, opponents, court, witnesses and undertaking your own liability investigations.
Main duties and responsibilities
Predominantly PI including EL, PL and Disease and Motor
Work as part of a team providing a comprehensive range of legal advice and representation to the team’s clients
Assist the Team Manager and other Partners with their cases, client development, client training, networking and potentially public speaking where required
Complete MI procedures as and when required
Achieve set financial and chargeable targets
About You
Previous experience at managing the defence of EL/PL casualty claims is essential
Previous experience at managing the defence of motor/fraud/disease claims is desirable
Excellent knowledge of Court of Session and Sheriff Court procedure preferable
Experience of handling own caseload
Good influencing skills
Excellent communication and IT skills
