Job Summary


Our client is a world-renowned Motor Museum who is actively seeking an experienced Paint Shop Technician to join their team. You will be responsible for taking a car body’s from a restored shell to a painted shell for both the museum and clients vehicles to the highest standard, including concours. There will be some smaller paint jobs that need doing but primarily full body re-sprays.

An ideal candidate will be a qualified in this area but most importantly have demonstrable experience in doing the same job at another reputable vehicle restorer. Be able to work with both modern cars as well as older classic, veteran and vintage cars.

The Paint Shop Technician will work in collaboration with the Head of Body Shop and Fabrication to develop and constantly review time scales and identify areas which need communicating to the client. The ability to estimate time scales for jobs is desirable but not essential.

You will also ensure that all clients and potential clients receive a polite, professional and efficient service, maintaining all our clients brand pillars.

  • Be able to carry out all prep work to vehicle body’s before paint from a bare metal shell - Essential
  • Filler work where required - Essential
  • To paint to the highest standard - Essential
  • Flat and polishing paint work - Essential
  • Keep to job timelines, and keep accurate time records - Essential
  • Co-ordinate and communicate with other internal sections of the Workshop & Restoration Centre and the Museum when required - Essential
  • Be able to converse with clients from time to time when required - Desirable
  • Immaculate housekeeping skills - Essential
  • Clean and tidy appearance - Essential

Other

  • Able and willing to work out of hours if required; time off in lieu or paid overtime will be given - Desirable
  • A minimum of five years’ demonstrable experience in the motor trade - Desirable
  • Practical, hands on, approach and attention to detail - Essential
  • Able to respond using own initiative and a good team player - Essential
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and spoken English, and the ability to deal with clients in a professional manner if required - Desirable
