Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 19:00. Flexibility required for occasional proxy parenting, travel and medical appointments.

Job Overview:
A warm and organised family in New York is seeking an experienced Daily Nanny to care for two children. The children are a boy born March 2020 and a girl born April 2021. This is a mainly sole charge role. Both children attend school full time at two different schools, so the nanny will at times assist with school runs. The role includes full nanny duties, support with the children’s routines, and management of all child-related tasks during the day. The nanny should provide a happy and engaging childhood while encouraging good manners, respectful behaviour and kindness.

The little boy is active and sporty. The little girl is creative and loves art, singing, dancing and swimming. Both children are settled, independent and in good routines.
The nanny will also support the younger child’s specific health and dietary needs. She is on a strict no-dairy diet and requires daily medication and regular medical follow up. The nanny will accompany her to medical appointments and may occasionally be asked to administer medication, including an injection, under parental direction.

The position is live-out. A confident driver is preferred. The family has a small Cavapoo dog, so the nanny must be pet friendly.
There will be travel with the family, including Europe and the United Kingdom. Occasional proxy parenting will be required when parents travel.

Responsibilities:
  • Sole charge daytime care of two children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and happiness.
  • School drop offs and collections for two different schools as required.
  • Planning age-appropriate activities, play, outings and enrichment for each child, including sport for the older child and creative activities for the younger child.
  • Supporting good manners, respectful behaviour and general social development at home and in public.
  • Full nursery duties including children’s laundry, ironing and wardrobe management.
  • Cooking and preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for the children, with close attention to dietary requirements.
  • Shopping for the children’s food, clothing, supplies and school items.
  • Keeping children’s areas, toys, kit and school bags clean, organised and ready each day.
  • Administering daily medication for the younger child, including occasionally giving an injection as trained and directed by the parents, and accompanying her to routine and specialist medical appointments.
  • Running occasional child-related household errands.
  • Packing and organising the children’s items for travel and activities, including sport kits and swimming kits.
  • Proxy parenting when parents are away, including sole charge overnights where required.
Ideal Nanny:
  • Eligible to work in the United States. (US passport or Green Card required).
  • Experienced, professional daily nanny with recent long-term experience in private households.
  • Calm, warm, energetic and positive in approach.
  • Highly organised and proactive, able to run the children’s day smoothly without supervision.
  • Flexible and reliable, able to adjust plans when parents’ work or travel changes.
  • Confident supporting two school-aged children with different interests and schedules.
  • Strong interest in nutrition and healthy eating for children.
  • Comfortable managing medication routines, record keeping and liaising with doctors.
  • Driver is preferred but not essential (as a confident driver in New York City and for longer drives).
  • Happy to travel internationally, including Europe and the UK.
Perks of the Role:
  • Both children are in full time school and in good routines, which can allow quieter periods in the middle of the day in term time once all nanny duties are complete.
  • Travel with the family to high quality destinations in Europe and the UK.
  • Meaningful role with engaged parents who value respectful behaviour, kindness and good manners.
  • Opportunity for long-term stability for the right nanny.
