Full-Time Daily Nanny (Bermondsey, SE16)

A wonderful family in Bermondsey is seeking an experienced and dedicated full-time nanny to care for their lively and outgoing nearly 4-year-old daughter, as well as a new baby expected in July 2025. The nanny’s primary responsibilities will include school-related duties as the older child will begin school in September 2025, along with caring for the newborn and assisting with light household tasks and meal preparation. The position is perfect for a proactive, engaging, and flexible nanny with a passion for childcare and a love for travel. The daily schedule will evolve across several key stages: from supporting the mother during maternity leave, to sole charge once she returns to work, and eventually adapting as the baby starts part-time nursery. A flexible and adaptable approach will be essential. The parents are Italian and Dutch and would prefer an Italian or Dutch speaker.  

July 2025 - November 2025: When the baby is born and the Mother is home.

Monday to Friday: 7:45am - 3:45pm
Duties include: Getting the Child ready to go to school, breakfast, school pick ups and drop offs, take care of baby or help the Mother with household tasks, cooking/laundry, activities/homework.
Total Hours: 40 hours/week (can be flexible/add more).

November 2025 to 2028+: From when Baby starts going 2 days a week to nursery.

Monday and Wednesday: 7:45am - 5:45pm
Duties include: School and nursery drop offs and pick ups, unpack groceries, batch cook for family for 2 evenings, light laundry/tasks, homework/activities.
Hours: 10 hours per day.

Tuesday and Thursday: 7:00am - 5:45pm
Duties include: Getting the Child ready for school/breakfast, school pick ups and drop offs, take care of baby, activities/homework.
Hours: 11 hours per day.

Friday:
School pick up, homework help, cook for family, pick up baby at nursery, finish at 5:45 pm.
Hours: 5 hours per day.

Total Hours: 47 hours/weeks.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Caring for the 4-year-old daughter: Drop-offs and pick-ups from nursery until she begins school in September 2025. Once she starts school, duties will include school runs, after-school activities and homework assistance.
• Caring for the newborn: Full-time care for the baby once born, including feeding, changing, and assisting with sleep routines.
• Household Support: Complete light household tasks, such as laundry, unpacking groceries, light cleaning, tidying up, and assisting with meal preparation while the older child is at nursery or school.
• Meal Preparation: Cook healthy, nutritious meals for the family, with the ability to batch cook/prep meals in advance for busy days, also including breakfasts.
• Travel: As the family often travels, the nanny will be required to accompany them on trips, ensuring that both children’s routines are maintained while on the go.
• Engagement: Maintain a phone-free environment when interacting with the children, ensuring the nanny’s full attention is given to nurturing and engaging with them through play, learning, and development.

Requirements:

• Experience with young children: Previous experience working with children in a similar age range (newborn to 5 years old), including knowledge of early childhood development, sleep training, and age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with Travel: A nanny who is comfortable traveling internationally with the family, assisting with the children’s needs while on the move and adapting routines to new environments.
• Cooking Skills: Must be able to prepare nutritious meals for the family, including cooking for the children and preparing meals in advance.
• Organisational Skills: The ability to manage daily routines efficiently, from school runs to household chores, while maintaining a clean and organised environment.
• Engaging Personality: A warm, bubbly, and energetic personality that matches the sociable nature of the children. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and proactive, creating a fun, nurturing, and stimulating atmosphere.
• Formal Qualifications: Childcare qualifications are preferred.
• Language Skills: The ability to communicate in more than one language would be advantageous (Italian and/or Dutch), as the family values diverse language exposure for their children.
