Logistics Controller
Normanton, WF6
Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience – a strong starting package with benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Controller to join a recruitment team in Normanton (WF6). This is a relaxed, fast-paced office environment where you'll be filling client bookings on the spot as well as planning ahead, alongside driver recruitment.
As with any business in the transport and recruitment sector, volumes move between quieter and busier periods, so the ideal candidate will be someone who can adapt comfortably to this. We're looking for a driven individual who wants to build a long-term career with a company that offers genuine opportunities to progress.
Key responsibilities
•Planning drivers on regular work and ad hoc loads.
•Working closely with their other operating sites to maximise and make the best use of all resources.
•Working their own fleet as well as their national subcontractor network.
•Building and maintaining client relationships, both internally and externally.
•Keeping a strong customer and service focus at all times.
•Being willing to work as part of a team and learn all aspects of the business.
•Sharing responsibility for the on-call phone.
•Providing strong administrative support.
What we're looking for
•Transport experience and/or CPC preferred, but not essential.
•Good knowledge of driver legislation would be advantageous, but is not essential.
•Strong administrative skills.
•A customer and service-focused approach.
Additional opportunities
They also operate their own transport yard in the Castleford area, as well as operations running from Tamworth and Essex. Depending on your interests, this may also open up opportunities in:
•Face-to-face driver management.
•Fleet checks and maintenance.
