HR Advisor - Compliance Lead

Job Type: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Lichfield | Hybrid: 1-2 days in office 
Salary: £36,050 per annum
Working Hours: Full‑time Mon-Fri, 8am–5pm (37.5 hrs) 


A great opportunity for an experienced HR professional to lead a small team and drive high‑quality HR compliance across a large, fast‑paced organisation supporting colleagues. This role requires strong compliance knowledge, excellent organisational skills and proven experience coaching or managing junior HR team members.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop Junior HR Advisors, providing daily direction, coaching and escalation support.
  • Act as SME for a specialist compliance area, offering clear, practical guidance to stakeholders.
  • Manage core compliance processes including:
  1. Right to Work checks
  2. Sponsorship licence obligations
  3. DBS/PVG checks
  4. Fair Work Agency standards
  5. Professional memberships
  6. HR transactional compliance (family leave, contractual changes, benefits)
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation and tracking for audits and reporting.
  • Identify risks, strengthen controls and support governance activities.
  • Contribute to process improvements and standardisation across HR operations.
  • Build strong relationships with HRBPs and wider People Team colleagues.
  • Provide policy and legislative advice, ensuring compliance requirements are understood and applied.
 
Skills & Experience

Essential
  • Strong HR Operations background with compliance/governance focus.
  • Knowledge of Right to Work, sponsorship/immigration, DBS/PVG or similar compliance areas.
  • Experience guiding or supporting junior colleagues.
  • Excellent organisation and ability to manage high‑volume workloads.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to interpret legislation into practical advice.
Desirable
  • CIPD qualification.
  • Experience coaching junior HR colleagues.
  • Process improvement experience.
  • Background in a regulated or large‑scale environment.
