Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of plant modifications, including hazard assessments and HAZOP studies.
- Determine the appropriate scope of hazard assessments, perform engineering calculations, guide testing programmes, and revise process designs based on findings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry codes of practice.
- Collaborate with project engineering teams to develop plant layouts, costings, and proposals.
- Provide expert input on process improvement projects and support R&D in developing scalable chemical processes.
- Offer technical guidance to internal teams, customers, and third-party consultants on safety, design, and processing methods.
- Take ownership of specified projects, managing budgets, resources, and timelines to meet business objectives.
- Oversee the commissioning of new and modified plant operations to meet production targets.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree-qualified in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with commissioning and on-plant troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of COMAH and DSEAR regulations.
- Familiarity with SIL, LOPA, and DIERS methodologies.
- Track record of developing new chemical processes and enhancing existing ones.
