Job Type: FTC (Fixed Term Contract) until end of January 2026 - potential to be extended

Excellent Location: Central Birmingham, Office Based 

Hours: Monday to Friday | 9am till 5.30pm

The Role:

You’ll act as the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, providing in-person and remote support to users across the business. From troubleshooting hardware and software problems to managing tickets and escalating complex issues, you’ll play a key role in maintaining a smooth and efficient IT service.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Providing onsite IT support for users (hardware, software, network, mobile devices).
  • Logging and managing IT incidents and service requests via the helpdesk system (Jira).
  • Escalating complex issues to senior support teams and documenting details accurately.
  • Supporting business-critical applications and liaising with third-party vendors.
  • Assisting with equipment setups, desk moves, and inventory management.
  • Delivering IT inductions for new starters and managing user access (JML process).
  • Contributing to the creation of SOPs and knowledge base articles.
  • Ensuring compliance with IT security and data protection policies.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN).
  • Hands-on experience with IT support in a business environment.
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Experience supporting office moves or equipment deployments is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • ITIL, CompTIA A+, or Microsoft certifications (desirable but not essential).
