Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to maximise sales and profitability within the assigned product category.
- Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and inventory to optimise category performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to enhance offerings and negotiate favourable terms.
- Secure competitive pricing from suppliers and prepare quotations for the sales team.
- Place and manage purchase orders for stock and non-stock items, ensuring timely delivery.
- Oversee the MRP system to maintain stock levels that meet customer demand.
- Monitor and control buying prices, constantly seeking cost-saving opportunities.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and category management tools.
- Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and organisational priorities.
- Experience in vendor management, inventory control, and demand forecasting.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
