As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, including new constructions, renovations, and maintenance work. You'll ensure projects are completed within budget, to the required quality standards, and provide value for money, benefiting both the business and its clients. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, including new constructions, renovations, and maintenance work. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and record project costs, ensuring accurate data entry into systems.
- Coordinate with teams to track progress and update project documentation.
- Handle client claims, disputes, and invoicing, ensuring timely resolution and payment.
- Liaise with internal teams and clients to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
- Monitor and update project status, including mapping and notice updates.
- Ensure compliance with quality, legal, and safety standards across all projects.
- Conduct regular site visits and meetings to monitor project progress.
- Prepare and submit cost-related reports and data for review meetings.
- Organise and manage office supplies and miscellaneous orders efficiently.
- Attend training, keep up to date with industry regulations, and support professional development.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- GCSEs (Grade 9-4) or equivalent.
- RICS qualified (or working towards) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in quantity surveying, ideally in Civil Engineering.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach, maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work at all organisational levels.
- Ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
- Strong financial management and numerical skills.
- UK Driving License.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively.
