Due to business growth and expansion an exciting opportunity has become available for a Specification Support Executive based in the Lichfield area.

The role

As the Specification Support Executive you will interact and build relationships with customers in order to identify and capture specification opportunities for product ranges. You will play a key role in supporting external Specification Managers to progress the opportunities through the specification process ensuring maximum potential conversion to sales turnover for the Area Sales Managers.

The role includes:

  • Identifying and capturing specification opportunities within the CRM system from lead sources such as Barbour ABI.
  • Establishing first contact with the specifier to confirm opportunities and timelines to develop detailed specifications.
  • Continued liaison with architects to monitor new specifications opportunities to enable timely referral to the relevant Specification Manager for detailed specification.
  • Obtaining details of tendering parties to specified projects for referral to Area Sales Managers as qualified enquiry opportunities.
  • Monitoring and accurately reporting on specification opportunity activities through the CRM system.
  • Developing and maintaining strong and professional customer relationships internally and externally.
  • Continuous promotion of our product range to new and existing customers in order to develop the brand.
  • Developing and maintaining a good level of product knowledge on products and competitor products.
  • Working collaboratively with the Specification Managers, Area Sales Managers and Technical Team to ensure the specification opportunities are followed up and secured.
  • Identification of new specifiers with market specific product research for target products (e.g. PACE, Window Technology)
  • Meeting targets and KPIs as set out by National Specification Manager.

The person

  • Some understanding of Construction industry sales processes.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
  • Ability to work flexibly in line with customer demands and under pressure to achieve relevant targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of CRM systems would be an advantage.
  • Previous internal sales/telesales experience would be an advantage.


8.30 am – 5.00 pm Monday – Friday

Salary : £23500 + bonus
