Business growth has led to our Birmingham based client to recruit for an experienced Business Development Consultant to join the team.

The ideal candidate will have experience of building relationships with those at management and grass roots levels alike, in both the private and public sectors. An understanding of the tendering process is ideal but not essential

The successful candidate will be able to identify and create a prospect list within a chosen sector and have the skill set and determination to turn the prospect list into account customers. Once key account customers are gained, the successful candidate is expected to develop the relationship.

The successful candidate will be required to: -
- Identify prospects for chosen sectors.
- Cold call and prospect for sources of new business
- Generate leads for the organisation AAUK to carry out work
- Build strong partnerships with large corporate companies and large public sector organisations
- Attend trade shows and exhibitions, give presentations to large numbers and host groups
- Assist with the creation of materials tailored to the different sectors the business development department is targeting (e.g., presentations or handouts)
- Understand a tendering system and how to prepare for upcoming tenders (writing of the tenders will be carried by others)


The ideal candidate will have: -
- Full driving licence and own vehicle (essential)
- Clear enhanced DBS check – nothing to prevent working with vulnerable adults or children (essential)
- Enthusiasm and determination to succeed.
- Previous successful experience in a business development position.
- A strong ability to build a rapport with people of all levels in various businesses face-to-face
- Energetic and enthusiastic nature
- Well-presented appearance
- Pro-active approach and a can-do attitude
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite
- Proficiency in recording, analysing, and reporting information and results accurately
