Are you looking for a technical systems accounts role, supporting the commercial team to strive for process improvements for a global organisation?

Our client is an award winning, customer focused business with a UK turnover in access of £800million, they have large contracts both in the commercial and public sector but also deal with sole traders and limited companies. They are looking to expand their ever growing finance team, and bring in a systems accountant to support the R2R and Management Accounts teams.

In your new role

  • You will be responsible for providing system support in key areas within the Management accounts team in reconciling data between key financial systems. Identifying unusual transactions and providing ongoing support in finding resolutions. Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the system accounts processes, supporting the team with cover in the Management Accounts when absences occur
  • Completing weekly, monthly and annual checks to ensure data integrity is maintained
  • Reconcile and report on the balance sheet areas within the ERP control accounts
  • Interrogate anomalies within the GL and provide relevant data to assist in rectifying issues
  • Providing external auditors with their data requirements on monthly/quarterly basis liaising with the Financial Accounts Manager during the process
  • Advise other areas on the automated systems posting and their anomalies
  • Import and export data from systems, extract high volumes of computer data
  • Maintain the nominal ledger chart of accounts
  • Ensure all interfaces between the core finance system and feeder systems are maintained
  • Advise management of identified risks and issues
  • Collaborate with the management accounts team in justifying key movements in aiding explanations to senior stakeholders
  • Ensure that all process documentation is robust and up to date in line with group standards and expectations
  • Identify finance system training requirements to the wider finance team

What you'll need
  • Experience of working in a similar role, exposure to both Business Analysis and Management Accounts
  • Extensive systems accounting experience
  • Understands how stock, purchases etc feed though to the General Ledger
  • Experience in identifying unusual transactions and trends
  • Advanced Excel and SQL desirable
  • Excellent process mapping skills
  • Strong communication skills
