Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Demand Planning Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects relating to demand-forecasting of the business to agree a consensus 18-month rolling demand plan.  Sign-off with relevant management and cascade down to the right level of execution.
  • Present demand data to the business at multiple levels of aggregation (product family, site, region, etc.) to enable a productive and collaborative conversation to agree the demand forecast.
  • Collaborate with business teams, especially Commercial, to constantly improve the accuracy of demand forecasts.  This will include looking back on the previous month and deep-diving reasons for divergence from the expected demand forecast.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand the importance of an accurate demand forecast and hence embrace the associated processes.  A key part of this is to influence the internal businesses to understand the importance of their demand forecast for supply.
  • Establish forecasts that are in a format and time horizon suitable for use by the Supply Planning team and Logistics execution teams.  Time horizon is likely to be by month, but by week for the last quarter and by day for the last month.  Format could include consideration of weekly and daily demand by vehicle type.
  • Close interaction with the Supply Planning team to ensure goal alignment and that we are on track to satisfy both short and long term demand.
  • As well as creating a demand plan based on current operations, also generate an “opportunistic” demand plan, which illustrates the market place opportunity that ould be achieved if there were no restrictions on production & logistics infrastructure.  Work with the Performance and Optimisation Manager to long-term plan and model that demand as necessary.
  • Constantly evolve demand forecasting processes to best serve business needs.
  • Embrace, manage and hold the supplier relationship for demand forecasting tools, such as SDF (Statistical Demand Forecasting).
  • Understand the functionality and the influence that systems such as salesforce forward order book, have on demand forecasting processes, and manage as necessary.
