Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, programming, organising electrical resource and carrying out property surveys, preparing schedules, detailed specifications and technical reports to comply with agreed standards and relevant legislation.
- Checking, reviewing, and verifying electrical test sheets in a timely manner for compliance reporting.
- Responsible for the organisation and deployment of staff and sub-contractors employed by the company, including performance management, conduct, grievance and discipline, induction, training and staff development, controlling and monitoring productivity and performance levels, and quality of work.
- Responsible for creating orders, issuing to private or in-house contractors, maintaining detailed, accurate written and electronic records of all work.
- Carry out pre and post inspections ensuring the works are in full compliance with the requirements of client and company specifications and legislation
- Responsible via computerised management systems for monitoring all completed orders against local and national performance indicators.
- Responsible for planning, organising and conducting all contract meetings including liaising with other departments, contractors, partners and agencies to provide a co-ordinated approach and satisfactory quality completion of the required works within the specific timescales and to budget.
- Responsible for communicating effectively with contractors, partners and operatives on site to ensure satisfactory completion of the required works. This will involve providing technical and practical guidance.
- To respond verbally, in writing and or face-to-face, requests for information from customers, clients, utility providers, and other internal departments.
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation, new products and equipment etc, contribute to the identification, development, evaluation and introduction of new materials, working practices and techniques.
- Qualified to an approved electrician grade (Recognized apprenticeship, NVQ3 or equivalent, completion of AM2 test).
- Have the relevant qualifications to become a QS for NICEIC.
- Extensive supervisory experience.
- A proven track record of effectively managing cost and maximising efficiency.
- The confidence to challenge processes and procedures.
- A positive attitude and a strong commitment to doing things right
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments and areas.
- Expert technical knowledge relating to the construction industry.
- Health & Safety knowledge relating to the construction industry.
- A good understanding of all legislative and statutory requirements appertaining to the construction industry.
