Overview
To carry out scheduled maintenance, quality control checks, and defect rectification on all fuelling vehicles, while also acting as a fuelling operator when required.
To contribute to the performance and development of the department and work collaboratively across functions to support colleagues.
To ensure the provision of safe, serviceable fuelling vehicles for operational use through proactive maintenance and teamwork.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs, defect rectification, and routine maintenance on all fuelling vehicles and equipment to documented standards, ensuring timely completion and accurate records within the Blue Crystal system.
- Conduct regulatory quality control checks on fuelling vehicles in line with applicable standards.
- Maintain the workshop to a high standard, ensuring it remains a safe, clean, and organised workspace.
- Work both independently and as part of a team within single or multiple work allocation systems.
- Drive and operate refuelling vehicles and associated equipment in accordance with all company and mandatory regulations.
- Carry out all duties in compliance with JIG QC manuals, manufacturer manuals, health and safety regulations, security requirements, and other relevant standards.
- Undertake general workshop duties as a qualified fitter/mechanic, maintaining professional appearance and correct PPE at all times.
- Commission new mechanical equipment introduced into service in a timely manner.
- Take responsibility for assigned tasks, following instructions carefully and ensuring work is completed efficiently, effectively, and to the highest quality standards.
- Adhere to all operational and safety procedures, reporting any non-compliance as required.
- Report all incidents, accidents, and near misses in line with company procedures.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, management, and other airport stakeholders.
- Maintain qualification as an Aircraft Fueller, undertaking occasional fuelling duties to remain current.
- Conduct pre-use vehicle checks, reporting unserviceable conditions and completing defect documentation as needed.
- Perform regular inspections to ensure good housekeeping across all workshop and operational areas.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably allocated by the Operations Manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience as a Fueller or in a related vehicle servicing role.
- Proven background as a Heavy Vehicle Fitter or Mechanic, ideally working on commercial or specialist vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Experience in vehicle, equipment, or machinery quality control.
- Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and aircraft fuelling systems.
- Working knowledge of safety principles, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and professional conduct.
- Consistent delivery of high-quality service.
- Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace.
- Capable of working under pressure in a busy, noisy environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

- Full LGVC driving licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary airport security and airside driving licences.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of airfield Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workshop best practices.
- Relevant mechanical or engineering qualification.
- ADR licence (desirable).
