Duties and Responsibilities for the Wireman:
- Produce wiring harnesses from scratch using detailed technical drawings and specifications, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Analyse and reconstruct existing wiring harnesses for repair or reproduction.
- Visit customer sites to troubleshoot and repair wiring harnesses, including those already installed in engines or equipment.
- Work on wiring solutions for diverse sectors such as railway systems, defence (MOD), heavy-duty machinery, and automotive vehicles.
- Inspect and test harnesses to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of work, including designs, revisions, and testing results.
- Experience in wiring harness manufacturing and repair, including familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and wiring configurations.
- Skilled in using hand tools and machinery for wiring tasks.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a focus on precision and quality.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites when needed.
- Knowledge of railway harness systems or MOD equipment is a plus.
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum
