Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently recruiting for Class 2 Drivers in Trafford for a prestige client. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to join a well-established waste management company.
This role will involve loading recycling and refuse. As part of your role, you will be required to load bins and drive the vehicles. In-house, on the job training and instructions on the various vehicles in operation in the fleet will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- To drive and be responsible for the safe operation of a wide range of refuses collection vehicles. Also, to ensure you can work as a loader as and when required to which you will need to be available to collect bins, bags and other item from residents. This work involves outdoor activity works in all types of weather conditions.
- To transport refuse containers (dustbins, sacks, paladins, wheelie bins etc) and/or excess refuse from storage location to refuse collection vehicles
- To be able to interpret work programmes and schedules and complete daily and weekly bonus sheets, time sheets and vehicle checklists
- Operation of the vehicle packing and/or loading mechanism
- Emptying refuse containers and/or loading refuse into refuse collection vehicles
- Delivery of paper/plastic sacks and containers
- Awareness of the safety of members of the public when in control of vehicles and or equipment
- Identification of contaminated waste and undertake appropriate action in respect of
- To assist in the delivery of the service outside normal working hours e.g. Bank Holidays and weekends etc
- To undertake any training necessary as part of the duties required
- Carry out a full range of refuse collection duties, manual or mechanical based as required
- Driver CPC Qualification is preferable, however can be fully trained with fee paid in house terms and conditions apply
- Basic literacy skills
- Driving Experience
- Full Category C Driving Licence
- Previous experience in customer services and customer care skills preferred
- Experience of working under prolonged periods of sustained physical effort
- Experience of using a Digital Tachograph Card
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexible approach to hours of work
