Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Head of Production on behalf of one of our clients.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience of consistently delivering high level production performance in a dynamic setting. The role requires outstanding organisational, communication and leadership skills and an ability to develop and maintain innovative solutions that push boundaries.

The Head of Production will work closely with the Director of Operations to deliver week on week targets as well as manage and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success for the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:     
  • Deliver consistently on quality, on budget and on-time production to meet commercial performance targets.
  • Develop and deliver a performance based culture.
  • Maximise efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and internal and external collaboration.
  • Collaborate with senior managers in the development, measurement and management of individual & team performance goals and KPI’s.
  • Deliver strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
  • Analyse current production processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement wherever possible.
  • Plan, manage and execute the weekly production plan ensuring all targets are met.
  • Report on weekly performance to the team.
  • Weekly, monthly, & quarterly planning scheduling and resourcing.
  • Managing the available work pipeline.
  • Developing and implementing a personal development programme for all production employees.
  • Innovation and process improvements.
  • Ensuring the production environment is best in class and fit for purpose at all times.
  • Ensure that the use of designated systems, processes and procedures is enforced.
  • Adhere to the company’s policies and standards and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed.
  • Work closely with HR to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive and productive environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ten or more years in a production management role in a field related to our industry.
  • Strong people skills and commercial acumen.
  • Organisational, communication and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Strong experience in personal development.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
Desirable: 
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Experience in developing detailed schedules and forecasts.
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software.
