Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Operations Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

To organise and manage contracts department to ensure quality, safety, programme and financial objectives are achieved.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Operations Manager:
  • Organise, control and manage contracts department.
  • Submit offers to clients in punctual fashion.
  • Liaise with design team both internally and externally.
  • Provide input on orders received.
  • Run large contracts.
  • Monitor and report to BM on the financial and programme of all projects.
  • Programme works to suit company and client objectives.
  • Draft & issue risk assessments, method statements, quality plans etc.
  • Approve subordinates risk assessments, method statements, quality plans etc.
  • Ensure that the works are carried out safely and in accordance with company requirements.
  • Liaise with BM regarding costs, valuations and project forecast.
  • Ensure that subordinates carry out the works as per approved working drawings and specification.
  • Develop client and supplier relationships to sustain the branch and company objectives.
  • Attend site meetings as required.
  • To organise and control all labour.
  • To prepare timesheets and approve labour invoices.
  • Maintain health & safety standards on sites, ensuring that work is carried out in strict accordance with method statements and risk assessments.
  • Assess tasks, to produce, amend or add to method statements and risk assessments as required.
  • Check quality, ensuring that work conforms with specification drawings.
  • To coordinate deliveries with main contractor’s on-site systems.
  • To attend meetings with main contractor’s on-site systems.
  • To keep paperwork records for quality assurance.
  • To check and record labour outputs against timesheets.
Skills and Qualifications for the Operations Manager:
  • Approved contractor selection in accordance with our procedures.
  • Approval only of subcontract labour applications.
  • Approval of Time Sheets.
  • Gold CSCS card holder.
  • Adaptability/business awareness/detail handling/initiative/planning and organising/flat roofing/plant safety/communication.
  • General IT awareness.
  • SMSTS.
