Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management of the Field Engineers, equipment, and operational processes in relation to applicable regulations.
- Monitor Field Engineer’s utilisation to ensure cost effective service operation and that the team is viewed as a Value-Added proposition.
- Liaise with client representatives to ensure fulfilment of Service Level Agreements
- Ensure the business profile is promoted with clients so that new business opportunities are identified and exploited.
- Ensure all equipment is of the correct standard and installed safely.
- Lead the Field Engineers in using safe working practices.
- In conjunction with the appropriate Project Manager, manage designated contractor to ensure installations are installed on time and on budget.
- Ensure projects are scoped out correctly and delivered safely in conjunction with the designated Project Manager, ensure all technical aspects are catered for.
- Management of CMMS system and online service reports.
- Utilise and manage CBM activities to prevent unplanned failures.
- Effective asset management and criticality to be understood and full RCA to be completed following breakdowns.
- Maintain technical knowledge as current and identify opportunities for deployment of new technologies.
- Report department performance statistics into the National Engineering Manager.
- Financial responsibility of the field engineering maintenance budget.
- Involvement in the fluid dosing 5-year capital plan.
- Leadership and development of the maintenance team.
- Strong cross functional ways of working across the operation and also central support functions.
- Identify best practices and standardisation opportunities that can be shared across the field engineers as well as site maintenance functions.
- Act as an escalation point in support of the engineer or in the event of a dispute with the client.
- Management of 3rd party service provider, including service reviews and contract compliance.
- Compliance with regulatory bodies in relation to H&S, Food Safety and Environmental.
- Equipment installed in line with OEM recommendations.
- Strong leadership and behaviours in relation to H&S.
- Processes in place, trained out, and audited for maintenance activities i.e., contractor control, LOTO.
- Robust PPM schedule in place and activities completed within the allocated timeslot.
- Equipment reliability delivering the Production demand plan.
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly visibility of departmental performance.
- The maintenance budget, managed in line with finance controls and budget levels.
- Strong 5-year CapEx plan in place aligned to the strategic direction of the site.
- Strong development and succession plan in place within the maintenance team.
- Working very closely and engaging with the site team and central support functions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of leading, managing and developing a field-based team of engineers Essential.
- Experience of controlling and managing a financial budget Essential.
- Experience of operating as a 3rd party service provider capacity Essential.
- Involvement in major projects Desirable.
- Food manufacturing experience with a good understanding of hygienic equipment.
