Working Hours: 9 til 5 Monday to Friday but flexibility is required due to the nature of the role


Overview:

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic business who are looking to recruit a Technical Sales Advisor on a permanent basis due to growth.

This particular role is aimed at the company's technical sales elements – The controls and system design and the product technical design, supporting suppliers, staff and customers with technical information, analysing faults, producing solutions and managing customer’s expectations.

You will also have a sales role, selling our products and services to the people you meet.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for technical advancement for products, systems and controls.
  • Planning to ensure you achieve your technical goals.
  • Cost effective in technical analysis.
  • Research, analyse and monitor technological and demographic factors in order to capitalise on new technologies.
  • Work effectively with suppliers, customers and your peers.
  • Ensure you are marketing the company correctly from a technical perspective.
  • Evaluate market research to meet the changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Provide expert guidance on lighting technology.
  • Provide a technical professional point of contact for architects, builders, electricians, designers, etc. To discuss designs, technical elements and options to resolve any design challenges.
  • Maintain effective and accurate project files for each new project including design fees agreed, service levels required and discounts negotiated, etc.
  • Visiting lighting shows to keep up to date with design innovations and ideas.
  • Visiting suppliers to ensure they adhere to our policies.
  • Maintain good housekeeping.
  • Health and Safety.


Skills and Qualifications:
  • Be able to visualize a space from a drawing.
  • Able to present design concepts to clients enabling them to fully understand the basis of recommendations made.
  • A good communicator able to present confidently and clearly.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate, price, product suitability and quality, etc.
  • Effectively manage customer expectations.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Training skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Innovative lighting design skills.
  • Understand technical lighting considerations.
  • Microsoft Office Package including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ideally having experience using Relux and AutoCAD / Revit
