Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.

The primary purpose of the role is to support National Accounts team to be more reactive to customers, and whilst having engineers strategically placed to minimise travel the potential will always be for some out of home district travel across the UK and the potential to stay away from home for short durations if required.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Field Service Engineer:
  • All duties will be undertaken in compliance with HSE policies and direction.
  • Enforce the H&S interests of company on a day-to-day basis for all employees and sub-contractors.
  • Check emails daily for instructions and use the various portal apps for customer permits and site access such as Verisae, Ostara, OB10, Mercury, Concept and others as required.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of all controls equipment as per company policy, for all sites visited under a service agreement.
  • Responsible for attending breakdowns as and when required, according to company SLA’s.
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Tech Manager as required.
  • Complete site reports for each visit performed, detailing work carried out and any subsequent recommendations and upload docs to FP within 24hrs of visit.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining strong client relations.
  • Carry out conditional site surveys as required and produce fully detailed reports complete with recommendations.
  • Responsible for commissioning various DDC control systems including Trend, Siemens and
  • Tridium, completing wiring and commissioning schedules, updating control panel drawings and the description of operation in the commissioning file.
  • Ensure all works are carried out with strict adherence to all method statements and risk assessments and advise issues and updates when necessary.
  • When carrying out small works, always maintain an office-based folder backed up onto the office SharePoint site in accordance with the company ISO procedures.
  • When carrying out small works, ensure the project meets the clients/consultants design specification in relation to BMS controls installation, design and implementation and any conflicts are communicated to the relevant Project Manager as soon as possible.
  • Ensure all projects meet the programme of works and report back to the Engineer Manager/ Project Manager where contractual, design or resource issues occur.
  • Responsible for creating software, wiring & commissioning schedules and O&M documentation information is complete for description of operation.
Skills and Qualifications for the Field Service Engineer:
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • An extensive working knowledge of major OEM products from Trend, Tridium, Siemens, Honeywell and Schneider is desirable, but training will be available for suitable candidates.
