Design Engineer- Electrical

Guildhall is recruiting for a Design Engineer – Electrical to join a leading engineering and construction organization in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems for high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments while ensuring compliance with UAE authority regulations and international engineering standards.

- Design and develop LV power distribution, lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm, and ELV systems
- Perform load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, and short-circuit studies using ETAP, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, or equivalent software
- Prepare electrical shop drawings, SLDs, schematics, layouts, design reports, and calculation sheets
- Ensure compliance with DEWA, DCD, Dubai Municipality, IEC, and other applicable regulations and standards
- Select and specify electrical equipment including transformers, generators, switchgear, SMDBs, DBs, cables, and protection devices
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Identify design conflicts, constructability issues, and value engineering opportunities
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and ensure clash-free electrical services
- Support authority submissions, testing, commissioning, and project handover activities
- Prepare as-built documentation and maintain design records in accordance with quality procedures
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Registered Engineer with the UAE Society of Engineers
- Approved Engineer with Dubai Municipality (DEWA)
- EMAAR Approved Engineer certification required
- DCD Approved Engineer certification is an advantage
- IEC, LEED, ESTIDAMA, or other relevant certifications are preferred
- 6–10 years of electrical design experience in building services projects
- Minimum 5 years of GCC experience, preferably within the UAE
- Strong knowledge of LV power systems, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarm, and ELV systems
- Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, ETAP, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and similar design software
- Revit MEP and BIM coordination experience is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of UAE authority regulations and approval processes
- Immediate joiners or candidates with short notice periods are highly preferred
