Senior Design Engineer- Mechanical

Guildhall is recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical to join a leading engineering and construction organization in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems for high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments while ensuring compliance with UAE authority requirements and international engineering standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems for building projects
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection using HAP, Elite, or equivalent software
• Prepare mechanical drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and engineering reports
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, DCD, and other relevant regulations
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Participate in BIM coordination and resolve design clashes and technical issues
• Identify value engineering opportunities and support cost optimization initiatives
• Support authority submissions, commissioning activities, and project handovers
• Prepare as-built documentation and maintain design records in accordance with quality standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Registered Engineer with the UAE Society of Engineers
• Approved Engineer with Dubai Municipality (DEWA)
• EMAAR Approved Engineer certification required
• DCD Approved Engineer certification is an advantage
• NFPA, ASHRAE, LEED, or ESTIDAMA certifications are preferred
• 10–15 years of mechanical design experience in building services projects
• Minimum 10 years of GCC experience, preferably within the UAE
• Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting system design
• Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use developments
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, HAP, Elite, and similar design software
• Revit MEP and BIM coordination experience is an advantage
• Immediate joiners or candidates with short notice periods are highly preferred
