Guildhall is supporting a reputable real estate developer specializing in both residential and commercial properties across Dubai. They are now seeking a Project Engineer (Planning Engineer) to join their team and contribute to the successful planning and execution of high-rise building projects.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

- Project Planning: Understand the entire project lifecycle and prepare a detailed project scope, establishing planning, scheduling, and reporting requirements in line with the contract agreement.

- Baseline Scheduling: Develop a resource-loaded, logically sequenced detailed project baseline schedule for all phases, including pre-turnaround, turnaround execution, and post-turnaround.

- Reporting: Establish progress reporting formats and frequencies, ensuring comprehensive updates throughout the project lifecycle.

- Resource Allocation: Verify and consolidate manpower, equipment, tools, and consumables requirements based on norms and project schedules.

- Milestone Tracking: Set up alerts for all critical contractual and milestone dates. Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure timely completion of targets and raise flags for any missed deadlines, implementing recovery plans when needed.

- Scheduling & Monitoring: Extract and communicate look-ahead schedules to all relevant teams. Monitor progress against the baseline schedule, adjusting as needed for scope changes.

- Critical Activities: Identify and monitor critical and near-critical activities, reporting any deviations to the Turnaround Manager and senior management.

- Support & Variation Management: Provide scheduling support to the Project Manager, particularly for variations or change orders.

- Walkdowns & Reporting: Review job packages and participate in progress walkdowns. Coordinate the preparation and submission of progress reports to the client and head office.


Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

- 6-10 years of experience as a Planning Engineer with a consultant, contractor, or PMC, focusing on high-rise building projects. Minimum 6+ years of experience in the UAE.   

- Previous experience working with a developer is highly preferred.

- Proficiency in planning tools, software, and techniques, with at least 5+ years of experience using Primavera. 

- Strong understanding of the turnaround process and events. 

- Ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics, diagrams, and drawings.

- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and delegate workloads to meet deadlines. 

- Experience in resource computation (manpower, equipment, consumables) using industry norms 

- Communication: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with management, contractors, and engineers.

- Software Knowledge: Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft 365 apps is essential.
