Chapman Tate are proud to work with a global trading platform who are currently going through a period of expansion. The company has established themselves as a key figure in their chosen industry and are keen to maintain their success.

I am looking for a cloud platform engineer to work closely with their superiors to build and develop complex cloud solutions in order to meet their client’s needs. The role requires strong technical knowledge as well as leadership experience.

 Day to Day Responsibilities:

·         Work closely with architects to develop complex cloud solutions to meet the client’s requirements

·         Provide ongoing support and development of cloud services in tandem with the client’s development teams to build cloud-based applications

·         Create automated processes to prevent, identify and resolve issues that hinder service availability

·         Maintain documentation and operate toolkits for the provisioning and running of cloud infrastructure

·         Identify improvements and execute across a variety of areas such as financial savings, security, ease of use & reliability to optimise business.

Required Skills

.         Experience with configurations, automation, migrating on premise to cloud

·         Knowledge of AWS / Azure

·         Familiar with writing code in Python (AWS) / .NET (Azure)

·         Experience with one of the following: Terraform, CloudFormation (AWS), CodeBuild/Pipeline (AWS), ARM templates (Azure), Azure DevOps (Azure)

·         Demonstrate knowledge and use of AWS SDK (Boto3)

·         Well versed in automating software build, deployment and server configuration management using tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Git, & Terraform

·         Experience of modern agile development methodologies

·         Exposure to DevOps practices and automation of software testing, delivery and infrastructure changes

.         Knowledge of security and networking is advantageous 

Beneficial but not essential skills

·         Experience writing code in Java, C#, Ruby...

·         Knowledge of developing IaaS development toolkits

·         Familiarity in working as part of an existing Site Reliability Engineering team

·         Knowledge of public or private cloud technologies/services

·         Strong experience in Windows and Linux system administration, databases (relational and NoSQL) and networking infrastructure and services (routing, switching, DNS, NTP)
